In 2006 the Hetch Hetchy Railroad will once again secure right-of-way and extend its rails along the Tuolumne River on its way to Hetch Hetchy Valley. This time, rather than help build the dam that turned Hetch Hetchy Valley into a reservoir, it will help to bring the dam down and restore the valley. As before, the Sierra Railroad will contribute to the effort by providing right-of-way, rolling stock and steam power where needed.
